Résumé de Lovers in the afternoon

"Lovers in the Afternoon" by Carole Mortimer is an evocative romance novel set against the picturesque backdrop of Italy. The story follows the journey of the main protagonists, Alyssa and Anton, who find themselves entwined in a passionate affair that tests their romantic ideals and past traumas. Mortimer delicately navigates themes of love, longing, and self-discovery while capturing the vibrant ambiance of Italian landscapes. The narrative opens with Alyssa, a woman recovering from heartbreak, who embarks on a solo vacation intended for healing and reflection. She comes across Anton, a charismatic artist who is haunted by his own past. As they explore the stunning coastal towns and bask in the charm of sunlit afternoons, their connection deepens. This juxtaposition emphasizes the romantic tension and the complexity of their relationship.
