Resumen de The Sun Down Motel

In "The Sun Down Motel," author Simone St. James weaves a chilling tale of mystery and suspense that spans decades, set against the backdrop of a small-town motel in Upstate New York. The story unfolds through two intertwined timelines: one in 1982 and the other in 2017. The narrative centers on two central protagonists, Viv and Carly, who are linked by their experiences at the Sun Down Motel, a place steeped in eerie occurrences and dark secrets. Viv, in 1982, takes a job as a night clerk at the Sun Down, where she quickly realizes that something is amiss. Strange sounds, frightening apparitions, and an unsettling presence haunt her nightly shifts. As she delves deeper into the history of the motel and the unsolved disappearances of women in the area, it becomes clear that the location is tied to sinister events. Fast forward to 2017, Carly, Viv's niece, becomes obsessed with finding out what happened to her aunt after her mysterious disappearance. This leads her to the same motel, where she confronts chilling truths from the past and battles her own fears. St. James masterfully uses the motel's setting as a character in itself, embodying the ghostly and mysterious elements of the narrative. The book explores themes of familial bonds, unresolved trauma, and the quest for truth. Through vivid descriptions and a haunting ambiance, "The Sun Down Motel" captivates readers, drawing them into a complex interplay of the past and present, where the supernatural intersects with the reality of female vulnerability and resilience.
