In this society, ghosts and malevolent spirits are a constant threat, resulting in high demand for agents specializing in psychic phenomena. The story centers around three young agents from Lockwood & Co.: Anthony Lockwood, the charismatic leader; Lucy Carlyle, a gifted newcomer with a troubled past; and George Cubbins, their intelligent but fearful researcher.
