『Star Wars - Darth Bane - Rule of Two』要約

"Star Wars - Darth Bane - Rule of Two" by Drew Karpyshyn is a pivotal entry in the Star Wars Expanded Universe, exploring the origins of the Sith and the complexities of power and ambition. Set thousands of years before the events of the films, the narrative follows the journey of Darth Bane, a formidable Dark Jedi who becomes disillusioned with the Sith's internal conflicts and poor leadership. He recognizes that the continuous infighting among Sith apprentices weakens their cause, leading him to establish the foundational doctrine known as the "Rule of Two." This principle dictates that there should only ever be two Sith at any given time: a master to embody power and an apprentice to crave it. The book delves into Bane’s transformation from a mining laborer on the planet Apatros to a dark force that reshapes the Sith Order. Through his studies, he seeks to uncover ancient Sith knowledge, heavily influenced by his encounters with mystical artifacts and ancient Sith holocrons. Bane grapples with his own ambitions while being challenged by other Jedi and Sith, weaving themes of duality and betrayal throughout the narrative. Among the central characters are Bane himself and his apprentice, Zannah, who becomes a crucial part of the Sith’s future. The dynamics of their relationship illustrate the complexity of Sith teachings and the balance of power. "Rule of Two" is marked by intense battles, philosophical debates about the nature of the Force, and the exploration of the dark side, contributing to an expansive tapestry of the Star Wars mythos. This novel not only strengthens the lore surrounding the Sith but also sets the stage for future conflicts within the galaxy.
