《Neon Gods》摘要

"Neon Gods" by Katee Robert is a modern retelling of the myth of Hades and Persephone, set in a vibrant, gritty urban landscape that blends elements of fantasy and contemporary romance. The novel introduces readers to a world where gods and mortals coexist, but the lines between them are both blurred and fiercely drawn. The story unfolds in a city that operates under the watchful eye of the powerful, with a distinct focus on the relationships and rivalries among its divine inhabitants. The protagonists, Hades and Persephone, are reimagined with depth and complexity. Hades is portrayed as the misunderstood ruler of the Underworld, grappling with the expectations placed upon him. Meanwhile, Persephone, traditionally known as the innocent maiden, is depicted as strong-willed and seeking to define her own identity in a world that seeks to control her. Their chemistry and unresolved tensions propel the narrative forward, particularly as Persephone finds herself drawn into Hades' world after an unexpected turn of events. Robert crafts a tale filled with intrigue, exploring themes of power, desire, and self-discovery. As the story progresses, the protagonists navigate not only their burgeoning feelings for each other but also the perilous politics of the underworld—full of manipulation, betrayal, and danger from the tracking forces of their divine peers. With each chapter, the tension escalates, setting the stage for a compelling exploration of love, agency, and the clash between light and dark. "Neon Gods" is an exciting blend of romance and myth, inviting readers into a world where passion and ambition collide.
