《Kingdom Come》摘要

"Kingdom Come," authored by Mark Waid, is a graphic novel published by DC Comics that reimagines the superhero genre in a bold and thought-provoking manner. Set in a dystopian future, the narrative unfolds in a world where traditional superheroes have largely vanished, leaving society in the hands of a new generation of aggressive and morally ambiguous heroes. The story is framed through the eyes of Norman McKay, a dying preacher who becomes a reluctant witness to the unfolding chaos. The book explores profound themes of morality, justice, and the consequences of unchecked power. Waid uses the character of Superman as a central figure, who returns to a world increasingly dominated by superhuman beings willing to use lethal force. The story grapples with the ethical dilemmas surrounding heroism, questioning what it means to be a protector in a society that has lost its way. Waid presents a striking contrast between the ideals of the Golden Age heroes, like Superman and Wonder Woman, and the often brutal tactics employed by the new vigilantes. One of the distinctive frameworks of "Kingdom Come" is the interplay between faith and cynicism, as Norman McKay's visions of impending disaster lead to the emergence of a new coalition of heroes attempting to restore order. The lavish artwork by Alex Ross further amplifies the narrative's impact, depicting iconic characters in a painted style that captures both their grandeur and their vulnerabilities. Through its exploration of redemption, responsibility, and the nature of heroism, "Kingdom Come" challenges readers to reconsider the role of superheroes in society and the eternal struggle between good and evil.
