Riggs explores themes of belonging, identity, and the impact of war on those who are different. Inventive settings, such as the hidden world of the Hollow and the eerie, time-looping places they encounter, provide a vivid backdrop for their adventures. Each chapter reveals new mysteries and challenges that the characters must confront, often signified by the striking images that punctuate the narrative.
