《Czas pogardy》摘要

"Czas pogardy," a novel by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, is the second book in the Witcher Saga, continuing the intertwining tales of Geralt of Rivia, a mutated monster hunter, and Ciri, a young princess with a powerful destiny. Set in a richly imagined medieval world, one filled with magic, political intrigue, and complex moral dilemmas, the narrative explores themes of destiny, the consequences of war, and the nature of humanity through the experiences of its diverse characters. In "Czas pogardy," the socio-political landscape becomes increasingly fraught as various factions vie for power amidst the looming threat of war. Geralt, often portrayed as a reluctant hero, grapples with his role in this turbulent world while trying to protect Ciri, who is destined for greatness yet burdened by her powers. The novel delves into the fragmentation of alliances and the rise of animosities, showcasing Sapkowski’s adeptness at crafting a world where choices have tangible consequences. Throughout the book, the narrative shifts between Geralt's quest and Ciri’s coming-of-age journey. Readers witness Ciri's struggle to understand her identity and embrace her powers amidst external pressures, reflecting the theme of self-discovery. Additionally, Sapkowski brings forth complex moral questions about loyalty, the nature of evil, and the blurry lines between right and wrong, all framed within the gritty realism of warfare. The story’s distinctively immersive framework, characterized by adept character development and rich thematic depth, solidifies “Czas pogardy” as a compelling continuation of the Witcher saga.
