《Amulet》摘要

Kazu Kibuishi's acclaimed graphic novel series, *Amulet*, begins with a profound family tragedy and a subsequent relocation that thrusts two siblings into an extraordinary adventure. Following the untimely death of their father, Emily Hayes, her younger brother Navin, and their mother Karen move to a dilapidated, ancestral home in a new town, seeking a fresh start. This mysterious house, however, holds a dark secret within its walls. When their mother is snatched by a monstrous creature through a hidden door in the basement, Emily and Navin are forced to pursue her into an alternate dimension. This new world, known as Alledia, is a fantastical realm brimming with both ancient ruins and advanced technology, populated by curious creatures, benevolent robots, and dangerous adversaries. In their desperate search, Emily discovers a magical amulet that chooses her as its new protector, imbuing her with powerful abilities and linking her to the spirits of past Stonekeepers. Guided by the wise spirit of a former Stonekeeper, she must quickly learn to control her newfound powers and navigate Alledia's perilous landscapes. Joined by a loyal robotic companion named Miskit and other unexpected allies, Emily and Navin embark on a perilous quest to rescue their mother from the clutches of the Elf King and unravel the mysteries surrounding the amulet and the fate of Alledia. The series distinctively blends high fantasy elements with science fiction, presented through Kibuishi's vibrant, detailed artwork that is integral to the storytelling, making the visual narrative a cornerstone of its appeal and world-building. It explores themes of loss, leadership, and the strength of family bonds against a backdrop of epic adventure.
