Resumen de A Wind in the Door (Time Quintet #2

In "A Wind in the Door," the second book of the Time Quintet series by Madeleine L'Engle, the narrative continues to explore the themes of love, courage, and identity through a blend of fantasy and science fiction. Set in the late 20th century, the story primarily revolves around Meg Murry, her brother Charles Wallace, and their friend Calvin O'Keefe. Following the events of "A Wrinkle in Time," the trio finds themselves facing a new challenge: Charles Wallace's health is deteriorating, and they must embark on a quest to save him. The novel introduces the idea of the "darkness," representing both external and internal struggles, which the protagonists must confront. This theme is further explored through the concept of the "Hyspidosis," and the idea of the interconnectedness of life is emphasized as they navigate the microcosmic world within the mitochondria of Charles Wallace's cells, symbolizing a rich tapestry of existence. The setting transitions between the familiar world of suburban America and the fantastical realm inside the mitochondria, showcasing L'Engle's ability to merge the mundane with the extraordinary. As the characters journey through this uncharted territory, they encounter various beings, including the mysterious and powerful creature known as Proginoskes, who embodies the essence of empathy and transformation. The force of love emerges as a crucial element, illustrating the profound connection that binds all living beings. Meg's growth as a character is significant; she learns to embrace her intelligence and emotional depth, ultimately discovering the strength that lies within. This novel artfully balances a sense of urgency with profound philosophical questions, inviting readers to ponder the nature of existence, purpose, and the relationships that shape our lives.
